In 2024 our goal was to introduce the New York audience to Ukrainian artists and projects. In 2025 we want to focus on integration and collaboration and our abstract art open call was launched in 2024 with this vision in mind.
“Crossing the Line” highlights the universal language of abstraction as a bridge between creative unique perspectives, cultural identities, and shared human experiences. Bringing together Ukrainian artists and their international counterparts, the featured artworks use color, form, and texture to evoke emotions and redefine artistic dialogue between nations and cultures. The show is a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty that is brought into the world when cultural lines are crossed.

RUKH Art Hub and Mriya Gallery are delighted to announce the “Crossing the Line” art show.
Rukh Art Hub and Mriya Art Gallery present “Crossing the Line,” a new art exhibition featuring talent from around the world. “Crossing the Line” will showcase artworks by 23 artists of an international open-call from Ukraine, Western Europe, the UK, and the United States. This is the first initiative in which Rukh Art Hub places Ukrainian talent within an international narrative.

Grand Prize
Neil Lorenzo
United Kingdom/Spain
“I create vibrant multi-layered environments that are an aesthetic emotional response to the one I live in. My painting process cannot help but be affected somehow by everyday experiences and thought and ideas and I have to put them down, layered and manifest, their accumulation fused and revealed somewhere in the middle“

Finalists

Veronika Cherednychenko, Ukraine

“Nature, organic forms, growth dynamics, transformation, but also degradation and death, everyday and common processes for all living beings. My artistic practice appeals to the unconscious, provoking the imagination in an attempt to look into the future or into oneself.”

Michael Lecomte, France/USA
↓

“Through the painting medium, I work on the contemporary landscape. I ask myself why a simple rectangle can be so visually appealing. As for my process, my paintings are transformed, scratched and re-worked, like walls in the city, or like medieval palimpsests.”

Vira Tolmacheva, Ukraine
↓

“My works are abstract paintings. They are not about forms or narratives but about processes. About how form is lost, and structure dissolves. The form is a burden. When I let go of it, flight begins. It’s freedom—just being in the flow, not seeking answers, not clinging to limitations.”
