Rukh Art Hub and PosterTerritory present selected works from the Student Poster Project “Born in Ukraine” by Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art students.
Human memory is short. How quickly we forget things that made us who we are, stories that once were a vital part of our history, and people who dedicated their lives to the betterment of humanity, the people who we think of with admiration and pride.
Each of us has our own destiny and sometimes circumstances can darken our fate, but we are what we bring into the world. The question of Ukrainian identity is what inspired this project, where students researched the lives of many Ukrainian nationals, as well as people of different ethnic backgrounds born in Ukraine, who contributed their minds and souls to the advancement of Ukrainian culture, science, and art.
This project became a revelation, where students of Professor Volodymyr Lesnyak would for the first time discover the lives and contributions of these people, finding out the true impact these scientists and artists had on Ukraine’s social fabric.
The goal of this project is to keep the memories of these great people alive and to always remember the part they played in writing essential chapters of Ukrainian history.
Sincerely, the curator and art director of the project Prof. Volodymyr Lesnyak, and the authors of the posters.
