Polina’s Story

Polina graduated from the Kharkiv Art School and the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts. Polina has developed an extensive national and international exhibition history. She was presented by Victoria Pacific Gallery in the United States, China, and the Philippines. Last year, her Solo exhibitions were shown in Talin and London.

A distinct individual artistic language characterizes the painting of Polina Kuznetsova. Working mainly with silhouettes and planes, the artist avoids deep space and explicit volume. She turns to the genre of

portrait, landscape, and still life, but in recent years she has shown an increasing interest in thematic and conceptual painting. In her works, a specific rigidity and tension of the artistic language prevail—strong contrasts of light and dark, expressive contour, and sharp transmission of light and shade. Her work is also characterized by a passion for the angularity of forms and lines.

“Magic Landscape” series

“My landscapes are full of magic and are idealistically beautiful. But this year the land that inspired them, the land that I drew inspiration from for all of my life is covered with terrible wounds…”
